Kebab Factory Somerville - Just Plain Gloppy

Many have critiqued the buffet here as just the usual Indian slop it out buffet, but that had not been my experience to date.

In fact generally I found a decent assortment of well prepared items that were bright, distinct, tasty and well worth the $8. In the past there was at least one non-chicken meat option...

NOT TODAY.

Tandoori chicken winglets (no drumettes) flabby and flavorless.

Breaded chicken in a murky mess of veg, flavorless.

Boring veggie biryani.

A kidney bean dish that was one of the only saving graces.

Saag paneer that was okay.

Chicken in a spicey cream sauce that was passable.

Shrimp in a spicey tomato sauce that used to be pretty decent, also flabby and lacking any distinction.

2 hours later and my stomach is still gurgling. Not sure I could deal with it again.

No meat other than chicken.

Overall, and solid BLECH; Too bad.

This makes me very sad as I have found this to be reliably good in the past. Here is hoping it was just an off day, maybe vacation week in the kitchen (fingers crossed).

Holey cow, I just realized I got the names confused!!!!!

It was Kebab factory in Somerville, NOT Kebab and Tandoor in Waltham...

I saw your post with the earlier title, then just saw this one. My first thought was that it served you right for having had two lunches in one day that they should both be gloppy.

Haha. Well, that makes more sense to me because they do have that weird breaded chicken sometimes (for kids?) but overall, I think KF's lunch buffet is better than K&T's based on zillions of visits to the former and two to the latter.
