California Spiny Lobsters (where to get)

I find kind of funny that it's much easier to get Maine Lobsters in the Bay Area than it is native Pacific coast lobsters. In fact, I've never had one (I'm originally from the East Coast). They obviously lack the claws that are a big attraction of the Main lobsters and look like big bugs, but are they just not very good? Or abundant? Or too small to be worth it for chefs?

If anyone could recommend either restaurants where they prepare California spiny lobsters well or places to get them fresh, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

The season is October through March. Their range runs as far north as Santa Barbara. I've seen them on restaurant menus around here a few times but they're more common in Southern California. They're a big thing in Baja.
