What places have the best of these? Willing to drive. Thinking of going to yang chow for lunch, but I could be persuaded to go some place else. I also like beef and broccoli and garlic chicken.

I would't be surprised if you don't believe me, but this is my no-foolin' answer:

Tasty Goody on Lincoln, in Venice. Call ahead and order it; it is a steam-table place but they will make anything for you fresh if you ask - and they make it well. Again, from the outside, they look like the usual junky kind of place, but they KNOW what they're doing in the kitchen if you ask them to make you something real.

They're my go-to for salt&pepper shrimp w/the shells on, for instance.

Yang Chow will do a good job with these standard, Americanized dishes. But be aware that their best dishes are the slippery shrimp, hot 'n' spicy soup with garlic and wontons (from the specialties page of the menu), the eggplant, and the green beans.
