Columbus - Chinese for a banquet meal?

jen kalb Jul 15, 2012 07:52 PM

We will have a group in town for a family event, and I am wondering whether there is an excellent chinese restaurant in town currently that would be good for a banquet style meal? I thought there were some promising places in the Bethel area, but I cant locate the posts.

thanks for any help!

    You might try:

    Hunan Lion http://www.hunancolumbus.com/
    Panda Inn http://www.thepandainn.com/
    Sunflower http://www.columbussunflower.com/
    China Dynasty http://www.chinadynasty-cmh.com/index...

Panda Inn and Hunan Lion are on Bethel.

I have had really good meals at all 4, but also have issues with all of them.

Yep, Northwest is your best bet.
      I highly recommed Sunflower.

Sunday Dim Sum. Come as close to 11AM for best pick. Trust me, it's an event.

Ive heard that and its definitely something I would like to check out (I mean, my Dad always dragged us to the dreary buffet restaurant down by 161/Sawmill) that but I really need a traditional family style banquet meal which I can select ahead of time - dim sum would not work for this crowd. Have you sampled their regular dinner menu?

Here's my report on the excellent family style banquet meal we had at Ming Flower, on Lazelle, near polaris.
Everyone (and Im talking about senior citizens from all across the midwest, young vegetarians and those of us from NY and other metro places) loved the authentic cooking and relaxed meal format, Im sure all of the above recommendations could provide a similar authentic experience, but columbus hounds should add Ming Flower to their lists of places that serve the real thing, not over-sweetened glop.

thanks to all for their help.
