"spinning" pot stickers?

By NO means an expert on pot stickers. Mine always look a little "ugly" but always taste good. Have made them with a pork mixture and that came out very tasty.

Bought nice wonton wrappers at my local Asian market yesterday, and the "mad scientist" part of my brain kicked and and have started thinking of spin-offs. Made the same way... stuck and then released by a little broth with some kind of dipping sauce. BUT thinking of different stuff to put inside?!?

Have had a few ideas rattling around in my head where the marbles used to be. Thinking corned beef... minced up real fine with either sauerkraut or cole slaw... Russian dressing for dipping?

Maybe pulled pork... BBQ sauce to dip. Maybe a mini meatball (already cooked) with a nice tomatoe sauce for dipping. Shredded grilled chicken... with Buffalo wing sauce. Haven't come up with an all veggie idea... YET.

Maybe smushed potatoes... like a perogi... with sour cream. Or taco meat... with salsa and melted cheese.

Thinking any of these potential hair-brained idea would also make some very non-traditional "egg rolls", too. If I'm totally off my rocker... I can deal with that. If I'm still ON that rocker... what would YOU see in a pot sticker??

In the past I've made cheeseburger eggrolls with a spicy ketchup dipping sauce. I think I may even have posted the recipe somewhere on these boards. The ketchup sauce went over surprisingly well.

Peppers onions and Philly beef and cheese wiz to dip
How bout sweet? Sweetened cream cheese ans blueberries or cherries to mimic blintzes.
Apple pie filling or lemon curd
Taco meat and cheese w/ salsa
Cabbage, onions broccoli, peppers snow peas, mushrooms etc w/ hoisin sauce mixed in and mustard sauce to dip for veggieheads
Pepperoni, sausageonion and mozzarella w/ pizza sauce to dip.
Refried beans and cheese w/ a salsa Verde to dip.

I could go on and on. Thumbs way way up on the potato stuffed. If you try it report back as I wish to try it. I always have leftover wonton skins. Can't get enough ways to use them up so hit me.

Actually, your idea reminds me of the times I've run into "Reuben Egg Rolls" on pub menus! Always been delicious!

Totally not off your rocker, I'll pretty much eat anything if it's presented in a lovely little doughy satchel. My dad has been known to make homemade ravioli with wonton wrappers and always tasty!

I've made them using various cheese fillings and served as hors d'oeuvres. Presented on a bed of fresh parsley, went well with some good wine.

You are not off your rocker and many a chef has done just what you are talking about.
Not to mention many other cultures already have dough wrapped dumplings and rolls in their traditional repertoire.
