Teeny tiny restaurant wedding reception

Hi!

I am looking for suggestions for a good restaurant venue for a very small wedding reception. To avoid the stress of planning a huge swanky affair my man and I want to have a small civil ceremony followed by a dinner or reception for immediate family and a few super close friends.

The dinner will be for about 20 people, including 2 or 3 kids and a couple of vegetarians. I kind of imagine it being held in a small private room and served family style at a long dining table, but am open to all kinds of suggestions.

The venue doesn't even necessarily have to be especially formal since we plan to host a big party a couple months after we return. We are getting married until March, but I wanted to have a few places in mind well in advance.

Anyway I know this is the place to come for amazing suggestions!! So thanks in advance!

    Check Locanda Verde, too.

Thanks guys! I love, love Public but had not thought of them. As for City Hall, it looks just beautiful. I will look into both.

You might check out City Hall.

It would be helpful if you could include a budget.

I'm hoping to keep it to no more than a hundred dollars a head including drinks and tax. I'd prefer a place with no venue fee. However, I have no experience booking private dining and I'm not sure how realistic I'm being.

Since it's such a small civil ceremony, we might do it during the weekday, which might keep costs down.

The drinks are what's going to blow your budget. You could do a $60pp prix fixe at Public in their Wine Room, but if your party is heavy drinkers, you'll go over.
