Rent a chick in AZ

christyar Jul 13, 2012 08:48 AM

I'm located in Tucson, but willing to travel within AZ.

In Detroit we used to have a farm that offered rent a chick. Basically you get two baby chicks for two weeks, bedding, pen, food....and when you return them you get a batch of eggs. I have always wanted to do this.

Does anything like this exist? http://www.detroiteasternmarket.com/n...

That's a pretty neat idea. I've thought about some egg laying hens and a rabbit hutch myself.

I had a little backyard laying flock, best eggs i ever ate, bar none. They were spoiled city girls, and preferred my herbs to nosh on rather than anything gross like slugs and mice, but you coulldn't argue with the taste of those eggs. Especially the green ones.
