Gumbo shop vs Felix for dinner?
Im trying to decide between these two for a Thursday night early dinner with my three yo daughter, husband and inlaws after arriving into town. We want to walk over to cafe du monde afterwards for dessert. My husband is craving a poboy, and we are hoping to experience NO cuisine. Is one better than the other? Less crowded? Faster service? I will have to check and see if either of them take reservations...
I like them both for what they are, 2nd tier casual places. For po-boy and oysters it would be Felix's (which I prefer over Acme...and usually no crowd problems) but for hot dishes Gumbo Shop.
Is there a reason faster service is important? That doesn't fit with experience NO cuisine. And most good N.O. restaurants are good with children, if that is a concern.
