Dinner in Carmel for 9 people

We've rented a house for a week in August, have been to the area several times. One evening, we will be a group of 9 people including two teens who are not finicky eaters. I made a reservation at Fandango but I am thinking my group may prefer to be in Carmel in town. Any suggestions on a place good for a group? I like Cafe Rustica but was trying to come up with a place right in town. Thoughts on Flying Fish Grill?
Also have other reservations later in the week (less people) at Monterey 1833, Cantinetta Luca, Passionfish. If there is anything new and fun that we've missed, let us know! We will likely also go to Casanova one night, Akaoni for sushi.

If you don't mind an Italian redux strongly consider Il Vecchio in pacific grove one of the nights. I recently had an amazing time there a couple weeks ago. Amazing chicken entree, great apps, decently priced wine list, good homemade desserts, and AMAZING service.

The Mission Ranch outdoor deck can be very pleasant. Weather permitting, of course.

Have not been there but it seems to be getting a lot of mixed reviews on this Board. Am worried the food may be a bit too precious for some in the group.
