Iphone App for tracking places to try

flyerhawk Jul 11, 2012 09:38 AM

Hey folks. Does anyone know of an Iphone app which I can store places I want to eat which will alert me when I am near them?

I have so many places I want to try and I never remember when I am near them.

I use Google Maps and add a location whenever I hear of a place I'd like to try. It won't alert me when I am near them -- if by "alert" you mean send a text or notification. But when I am hungry and away from my own neighborhood I pull up Google Maps, turn on the "Restaurants to Try" layer, and see what is nearby.

I have a Google Android phone, though, so it may not work the same on an iPhone.

Yelp and Foursquare are a couple apps that can find nearby places.

With Foursquare, you can create a "to-do" list of places.

Foursquare is a bit of a pain to use. Yelp is too generic. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Poynt is another program where you can save your searches. I don't use that app too much. I'm usually good with Yelp and Foursquare.
