Need lunch suggestion in Beaumont for tomorrow. Please help!

Hi Hounders,

Will be in Beaumont tomorrow during lunch & need some suggestions. I've checked the board & found a few suggestions, but they are 1-3 years old. Was wondering if something new has opened that should be considered. We love most food, but would really love seafood, gumbo, po'boys, but would be open to anything that is tasty. Any suggestions???

Too late for the OP but I thought I would post this anyway since there's so little known about Beaumont. It turns out a couple of the writers for the Houston Chronicle's 29-95 entertainment and dining guide are from Beaumont and both have recently posted about some of their favorites there.

One is Syd Kearney who is actually editor of 29-95 I think:

And another article on BBQ which references a Beaumont institution.

Why does it need to be new?

The 2 year old thread started by zorra is probably your best guide. I haven't eaten at the Floyd's there but have at the one in Webster and it was excellent for Cajun stuff.

Not new, and I've only eaten at the Houston location, but Broussard's Rib's and Links would be a place to consider for a SE Texas/Beaumont specific take on sausage, loosely packed links very unlike what you'll get elsewhere in Texas, very mild sauce. Stick with the links and ribs.

A couple of years back, when Robb Walsh was still with the Press, he wrote up this burger place:

It's been on my list to try if I ever get over that way.
