"It’s the best makeover in reality TV history" (FNS)

Andy Dehnart may not know food but he knows reality tv and loves what Food Network Star has done.

There's probably never going to be another season like this, so I'm enjoying it while I can.

At first i liked that the teams each had a theme (Bobby: cooking; Giada: personality; Alton: teaching). But the obvious desire by the producers to keep the teams even, and the clear need for one finalist from each team, meant that there was no real reason for separating the teams that way. We were always going to end up with one cook, one personality, and one teacher.

So THAT's why they're choosing the winner by viewer vote. Otherwise Bob and Susie would have to do it, and there's just no way they could pick favorite mentors like that. At last the new show's worst decision makes perfect sense. :D

eh, I don't like the new format. I think it's completely stupid that crappy contestants have been kept on the show because they were saved by their superior team mates due this " safe team" rule. There is also an unnatural need to keep team balance and they have clearly forced the teams to stay even so that at the end of this each of the "mentors" each have a contestant. Honestly I'd be thrilled if all of Bobby's team was gone already.

Bingo! Michelle and Nikki both need to go. Both the remaining contestants on Alton and Giada's teams are stronger than they.

I think the author of that article eat some funny mushrooms...his reality certainly doesn't reflect my experience of the show as a viewer!

I do agree, and I'm enjoying this season - well except for the family stories nonsense!

I don't think I agree with 3/4 of what the article says.
