Panca Peruvian Rotisserie in Oceanside...

1902 S Coast Hwy
(between Kelly St & Vista Way)
Oceanside, CA 92054

Anyone ever been here? I don't trust the Y*lp reviews. I'm a big fan of peruvian chicken and proper sides; I'd be blessed to have one in North County being relatively convenient.

I had lunch a few weeks ago. I had the Pollo Sandwich and my sister the Chicharron. We enjoyed both, I thought the chicken was flavorsome, plus the fries were great and I discovered their yellow pepper sauce ...sooo good.

I have only been to one other Peruvian restaurant Anticucheria Peruana in Norwalk which is much more authentic so hard to compare the two. I would give them a shot and see what you think.

UPDATE: I tried the $10.95 1/2 rotisserie chicken, fries and salad. Well seasoned and moist, and more than acceptable with the sublime aji sauce. Fountain drinks available in a paper plate vaguely Peruvian ambiance. Sandwich selection seemed very similar to the array I found in Chile in the Barros Lucos tradition.

Not bad for lunch: I would be more impressed with a full Peruvian selection such as anticuchos, aji de gallina, chaufa, ceviche etc. However staff informed me might be possible on the weekends in the future.

I had the Roast Chicken, with salad and fries. The chicken was sublime, crispy skin, moist, and favors that penetrated thru the skin. The accompanying sauce, was outstanding, as were the salad, and dressing.

A true find, and as they say in those red guidebooks "worth a detour".

I went back since my first post and had the 1/2 chicken very good. I talked to the owner a bit and she makes all her desserts from scratch. That day it was Creme Brulee and Alfajoles (shortbread cookies with caramel in between)
