ideas for reception venues in Brampton

mais12 Jul 9, 2012 05:44 PM

Can anyone recommend good banquet halls or restaurants (I'm thinking prix fixe in a private room) for a small dinner reception - about 25 people? My budget will stretch to $35-40/person for food & drinks. The food could be Indian or western but excellent desserts are a must. I'd be willing a space and bring in an outside caterer if need be.

Thanks in advance.

There's not a lot choice in Brampton in my experience but one does stand out a bit more than the rest. The last time I was there for a large gathering was probably about a year ago but they did a very good job of the food and service. It's Osso Bucco in north Brampton and they can easily handle 25 people with your budget. I think online they have a basic event menu where it's $28 pp and you can things to it.

The tiramisu dessert was great :) Same compliments for the hot and cold antipasto. I had the salmon and it was good (not the best I've ever had but nothing wrong with it). Service was a bit loud (in a stereotypical Italian charming way) when all the dishes arrived (there was like 8 servers all buzzing about) but overall, the service was attentive and polite.

I know that La Capanina on George Street has a private room upstairs.
Aria Bistro and Lounge on Main just South of Williams Parkway has a private room
Portobello's at Main & Vodden has a private room but I've heard rumours it's been sold so depending on your date, it might not work
Most banquet halls might be too big for your needs but I think Bovaird House can be rented for private functions and the Rotary Glen Banquet Hall out on Queen by Mississauga road is a nice venue and not overly big.
