Spicy and Tasty -- closed?

Anicca Jul 9, 2012 01:36 PM

I walked by Spicy and Tasty on Prince Street in Flushing yesteray. It was closed and looked sort of empty. There was a "Closed by Order of the Health Dept" sign on it. Was I at the right "Spicy and Tasty"? Did this just happen?

oh no! What threatening news! The HD has been cracking down turbo hard lately. Lets just hope that they've encountered a "miss-understanding" of sorts and nothing too major that would leave us starved, bland, and crying on Prince St. for good.

I've seen closures of this type a lot over the past year. Usually the restaurants re-open within a few days, usually with an A grade. Lets wait and see what happens.

Folks, we generally disallow discussion of health department violations. We make an exception where restaurants are actually closed so that people are aware that they can't go there. But we'd ask that people not get into the details here -- it's off-topic and the information will be out of date as soon as the next inspection happens. Please do let us know when it re-opens so we can remove this thread.

I think the policy is designed to avoid discussions about cockroaches, etc. and the health dept ratings (rightly so, those are awful discussions that get out of control) but a discussion about whether a restaurant is open or not is surely within site policy - so if you note, this thread and the references to the ratings havent been taken down.,

wondering if Spicy and Tasty has reopened yet?

I was at Nan Xiang Dumpling House on Prince St. on Tues., early evening. I could swear Spicy & Tasty looked open to me. I pointed it out to my grandchildren.

Yes, please report on Liang's. And anyone who has been back to S & T since it reopened?.

Swannee let me say that I went to Liang's and by all means give it a try if you are intrigued. The setting alone is very cool and unique; in the basement of the Best Western. The beef soup is very good. (For NY)
