What main course to make to accompany a tomato salad?

I have a bounty of fresh tomatoes that I'm planning on making a tomato salad with. Can anyone recommend any meat or seafood dishes to make to accompany this (Chicken, Beef, Pork or Seafood)?

  1. Hi there!

What kind of ingredients will be in your salad?

Italian style tomato salad, or maybe a tomato cucumber salad.

If it's Italian style, I'd do basil and mozz.

      1. Pasta with clams using lots of parsley, garlic, lemon zest and olive oil but no flour. Very fresh and a nice counterpoint to the tomatoes.

        1. I would love a nice flank steak, grilled simply and maybe some couscous or new potatoes with that...your salad sounds nice!

            I agree with pinehurst.

I'm up to me arse with tomatoes and basil.

I suggest a grilled flat iron or flank steak cooked to medium rare and I often do a side of pesto pasta just to keep the basil at bay.

Typical pesto pasta with pine nuts, basil, salt, pepper, garlic and EVOO and hanger steak with a cumin, cilatnro, garlic, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and lime juice as a quick marinade.

            Heaven for me.

          2. We've been having tomato salads almost every night lately. Sometimes with basil and mozzarella, sometimes with corn and cucumbers, sometimes with just a little salt.
To me, it goes with everything, especially since we are also grilling so much right now. We've had it with bbq chicken, steaks, hamburgers, lamb chops...we will probably have it again tonight with more chicken, and later this week with fish.
