We are driving from FL on the I-10 to CA and would love to know of any great spots along the route through Louisiana, Texas, and Arizona. We love fresh food, BBQ and seafood... Thanks!

You may want to post on the Central South board, as well as the Florida and New Orleans boards. I've done that trip. It's fun.

I've done most of that trip by car many times, so...

Under the assumption that you're more or less driving straight through and staying entirely on the 10 (neither of which make for a very interesting journey, btw - especially for the San Antonio to Arizona leg), I'd get some gumbo and a BBQ shrimp po-boy at Liuzza's by the Track in New Orleans, a reuben at Kenny & Ziggy's deli in Houston, BBQ at the City Market in Luling, ceviche at either the Sandbar or La Gloria in San Antonio (they're across a parking lot from each other), red and green enchiladas at El Comedor in Mesilla, NM, and a sandwich at Pane Bianco in Phoenix if you're travelling that far. If you stay on the 10, you won't see anything good, but at least you'll have eaten really well along the way. Safe travels!

This person is doing basically the same thing in reverse.

Some great suggestions in her thread:
