Best Lunch East of Montreal?

  • 6

We're looking to get past Montreal, out of the downtown traffic, then enjoy a casual lunch. Ideas?

  1. Where east? it's not clear, out of montreal island ? or still on the island?

"Le Valois" in Ho-Ma is nice.

Where is Ho-Ma? Not familiar with the area. We want to get past the notorious traffic snarls, get east over the bridge, out of the worst traffic, then do lunch. Is Ho-Ma an abbreviation or a name?

Sorry, Ho-Ma is "Hochelaga-Maisonneuve" a neighborhood east of downtown montreal (on the island).

It's not clear where you are coming from and where you are heading.

        Max.

    2. Depending on where you want to go (the east side of town is kind of large), there's Chez ma tante at 3180 Fleury E, Le Coin du Mexique at 2489 Jean Talon E, Dic Ann's 10910 Pie IX, Chez Apo at 420 Faillon E, M sur Masson at 2876 Masson, Petit Alep, 191 Jean Talon E, Tapeo, 511 Villeray, Tri Express, 1650 Laurier E, and the previously mentioned Valois.

We are coming from Ottawa, heading east to Magog. Would like to be clear of the bridge that takes us east, out of Montreal onto the C-10 route.
        - the Champlain bridge?

Well, you will no go to the east of Montreal, to go to Magog, you will stay on the west side of Montreal.

On the Island, You could stop in Westmount or NDG, Chalet BBQ would be one quick lunch (just in/out of the highway before getting on Champlain Bridge.

Other than that, just continue on to Magog.
There's a new restaurant at the Bromont Airport (not certain if it is open yet), but you will have to get off the 10 highway for a detour.

On the 10 highway, at the intersection of the 30 highway, there's the big "10-30" mega box stores that should have shopping-mall food, and should be quick in/out of the highway; and clear of traffic.
