Gastro tour .. Dordogne & Aveyron
We started our calorific journey last night with dinner at the Vieux Logis in Tremolat. It was excellent.
We'll be visiting Restaurant Marco outside Cahors, Gilles Moreau in Laguiole, Serge Vieira in Chaudes-Aigues & Michel Bras in Laguiole.
We'll finish our trip with a visit to Hostellerie de Plaisance in St Emilion.

At the risk of being boring by recommending it to everyone who visits this area do try to have lunch or dinner (you can stay at their hotel) at:
Le vieux Pont in Belcastel. They have one star & are content with that as to get two or more you have spend (waste) a lot on fou fou as opposed to the food.
You will without doubt have a great meal in wonderful surroundings served by professional, but friendly, staff.
Don't miss it.

re: Yank
Thanks 'Yank' and indeed some of the great finds in this region have zero stars.
I ate at Hostellerie Plaisance in St Emilion on Saturday. 'Fou fou' may mean everything other than the food, so where shall I start ?
We started with aperitifs on a terrace with a most wonderful view. The dining room is on of the most stylish & sumptuous that I have seen for along time; the dishes were so beautifully presented & the flavours .. well, in my opinion, this was dining in supreme splendour. I am so looking forward to returning very soon.
