Lincolnshire/Louth environs--need suggestions

We'll be spending August/September in Lincolnshire, with a few one- or two-day side trips from our base near Louth. We're adults (family-friendly not needed) and we love any kind of food, as long as it's well-prepared.

Recommendations, please!

Make sure you get a pork pie. I've tried them from 2 or 3 different butchers in Lincoln and Market Rasen and they've all been great.

Within the county, the recommendation would have to be Winteringham Fields. The chef/patron, Colin McGurran, was recently on Great British Menu and cooked some really interesting stuff. Looking at the website, the surprise menu is intriguing (not least as it gives no clue as to what you might be eating). Probably very good value at £79.

Thank you! Looks very impressive. It's now on our list as a must-visit.

Where else? Fish and chips, food carts, Indian take-away, cheese shops--any and all recommendations happily accepted.

Eastern regional winner of the "Fish & Chip Shop of the Year" award was Linfords in Market Deeping.

Winteringham Fieds is quite a long way from Louth - at least an hour's drive, I'd say.

My parents live in the countryside not far from Louth, and I have yet to find a decent restaurant in the environs. Sorry.

Boyfriend's parents live in the same area and I'd have to agree. We had a decent dinner at the Old Barn in Tealby, but that was a couple of years ago and it looks like it might have changed hands since then as the menu on the website is very different - much more pubby. Also the Advocate Arms in Market Rasen was ok, though again it's a while since I've been. And they have "fois grois" on the menu which is never a good sign...

Oh, dear. I'm adventurous, but I don't believe I've ever tried fois grois. Fois gross? Fois grosse? Hmm.
