My family and I are in the city tomorrow with 2 guests from Taiwan. What are some good spots for siu mi, har gow, bows & other goodies? We're walking, but will have a car. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Good Luck (736 clement), new chinatown offers the best variety and value
    in chinatown:
    Dol Ho (808 pacific)
Good Mong Kok(1039) both have good pricing but not all items are great. most are acceptable.

So many places and they each have their strengths. For example Blossom Bakery has excellent baked bao (BBQ pork and chicken, but chicken sells out early). Baked BBQ pork bao is also excellent at Blue Sky Cafe. Other threads have highlighted what's available at different dim sum bakeries on Stockton St. and other locations.

Try Delicious Dim Sum on Jackson at Ross Alley.
