Rosso, the Italian half of Boca's Red, The Steakhouse
Ate there on a recent Friday night with friends and kids. Early ish. Place was deserted, but we figured it was because it was early. Two tables occupied with elderly folk.
This place is gorgeous , very hip and modern. It should be a hot spot! Is it because of the location? It cant be as i know people in Boca will drive wherever to be at the 'in' place.
It certainly isn't because of the food--we had pizza, meatballs and shrimp. Amazing all around. Especially the pizzas--mushroom and spicy salami.
Service was great, too, but then again, they had no choice but to focus on the few tables there.
We left around prime time dinner hour for Friday night--8ish. Was still dead. Sad.
I hope it makes it because it's a great looking and tasting spot.
Prices were also reasonable. Bar was nice. I'd go back for sure.
We went last night and it was excellent.
I had a mozzarella "gnocchi" with spinach. The gnocchi are made from cheese instead of potato. She had a thick cut veal chop, breaded and fried in a good quality oil. Dessert was a flourless chocolate cake served warm in a cappuccino cup, topped with a head of homemade whipped cream. We paid $90, including two glasses of wine.
RIP, Rosso Italia in Boca...
