Need recs. in or near Hancock, MA ASAP. Thanks
My husband and I are driving up to Hancock, MA today for a weeks stay. Just the two of us - with a bun in the oven. :) we really would like recs. for good local dining, and any wonderful restaurants you think we shouldn't miss. As well as, any type of food shopping or sights we should take in.
Thanks so much for your help.

Go right over the mountain into New Lebanon (6 miles) and go to Mario's Restaurant!! It's wonderful. We went twice last month and had the best food. i swear it's better than it ever was, and the prices are still so great for what you get. I had shrimp and grits to die for. Hands down one of the best! (sorry to gush)

I wouldn't disagree with any of those recs. I would also add Chez Nous in Lee, Brix in Pittsfield. Viva in Stockbridge has good Spanish tapas. For more casual Old Forge in Lanesboro pretty close to Hancock. There is more if you are planning to make it down to Great Barrington.

As far as food goes: Pittsfield: Mission Bar and Tapas, Y Bar, Thistle and Mirth for drinks and small bites. Spice Dragon is pretty good for Vietnamese and Korean style. In Lenox Jae's Asian opened recently, I haven't gone yet, Nudel which is excellent and Alta which is a decent tourist spot. New Asford(a bit of a drive) has Old Mill on the Floss and just up the road is Mezze Bistro in Williamstown. West Stockbridge has Rouge Bistro. Stockbridge has Once Upon a Table. Great Barrington has Allium, Mezze's sister restaurant.
As far as things to do. The Clarke Museum in Williamstown, Hancock Shaker Village in Hancock, Tanglewood in Lenox and Jacob's Pillow in Becket which offers Inside Out, an outside free dance recital which is nightly at six. Hope you enjoy your stay.
