Fredricksburg peach stands

Beware of the peach stand on north Burnet Rd. I bought a small container of the peaches that are "ready to eat" and about a third of them are very overripe, one of them , the biggest peach in the basket was just rotten, mealy with no taste. Now I know it is typical to push some of the poorer merchandise off on folks when you have to buy a basket of something but I think this was beyond the pale. I believe the person running this stand knows what they are doing.

Check you peaches carefully when you buy them.

  1. Are you referring to the place in the Ross parking lot just north of Anderson?

If so, since you're out on a Saturday morning, why not drive a short ways further south and pick some up at the Burnet Rd farmers market. There have been some very good vendors there lately with lovely peaches, tomatoes, cucumbers and much, much more summer bounty and I've had nothing that was of questionable quality.

Yes, that is the one. Also, I was not aware that the Burnet Rd farmers market was even in existance anymore. Thanks for the suggestion.

    2. That sucks. I've had great luck (15 or so baskets) with the vendor who sets up at 2222, just west of MoPac, and (same farm) at 2222, just west of 360.
