Hotel Weekend Bar Mitzvah

Can anyone give me information on a ballpark cost (per person) of a weekend bar mitzvah at a hotel in the NY/NJ/CT area.
What is included in the cost? How does one set up for the tefillah? Is it bring your own Torah?
Can you recommend a hotel that you, or someone you know, has used and were happy with?

Matza Fun did a very nice job at the Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch on Pesach. I think that they may be able to work with you to cater events there all year round. They have advertised Shabbos events in the past. Mazel tov.

I went to a weekend bar-mitzvah at the Stamford Marriott about a year and a half ago. There were rooms set up for tefillot and meals. The family rented a Torah. It was a lovely venue with good food. I don't remember the caterer's name, but I know that the hotel has experience working with kosher caterers (been to a wedding there as well).

I was at a very nice such affair a few years ago at the Holiday Inn in Edison NJ, which I believe is now called the Edison Hotel.

Most of the NCSY/OU events are done at the Hudson Valley Resort in Kerhonkson, NY. I have been there for work events and they are pretty good. Also they have a lot of experience with kosher events.

The Ramada in East Hanover, Crown Plaza in Fairfiled and the Hilton in Woodlcliff NJ are all great options too....very kosher/Shabbas friendly and easy to work with.

***I have no ties financial ties to any of the above, but CHOW would want me to disclose here that I am a kosher caterer as well as a chef and foodie***
