Etobicoke area dessert / pub?
Last minute plan to meet with a couple of friends visiting from out of town tonight. they live around islington and queensway. We want to meet nearby within about 10 min drive for dessert or drinks for a couple hours. Any suggestions?

Perhaps you found this place in the end, but there is a dessert place right at that intersection.

Also at Royal York and Bloor there is a Caffe Demetre http://www.waycoolcafe.com/cafekings.htm

re: panko
thanks for your reply. we ended up at the monk's kettle on bloor st w (between islington and royal york). enjoyed some beer tastings (they call them flights). you get 4 small juice size glasses of beer for $6.95. surprisingly, it wasn't very busy on a friday night. we got a good table. we ordered 4 appetizers, bruschetta, chicken wings, calamari and fries which were mostly overpriced, small portioned and overall disappointing. i would go there again for the beer tasting but i would skip those appetizers.
