Any place besides Le Bus and Zakes for a great Sat near Forbidden Drive? It will be after a bike ride. Thank you.

  1. where are you getting out? if you leave by Northwestern Ave, right there is Cedar's, which is a nice little coffee house. Brunos is just a bit further (never eaten there).
lots of other places are much closer than Le Bus or Zakes (that's Manayunk and Ft. Washington, right?) You can look for places in Chestnut HIll or Roxborough if you're more toward NWestern or Valley Green. If you're at the other end of Forbidden, near Rittenhouse Town, there's less going on - then it might be worth going into Manayunk, or over to the places at the end of Kelly Drive.

I always think there must be an amazing place in the burbs for breakfast that I don't know about. We ended up going to Zakes.

Brunch at Spring Mill Cafe in Conshy? Considerably more upscale than your standard diner or bakery fare but an elegant and quaint BYO for brunch any day of the week. Check out the menu.

I see that my post may be little late....but for your next ride on Forbidden Drive.........In my opinion you will be extremely disappointed with Bruno's.
I suggest Cafette in Chestnut Hill. 5 minute drive from Northwestern Avenue.

Big +1 for Cafette. Friendly folks, very good brunch. People in bike togs will not feel out of place.

    2. you could hit the Fairlane Grill in Glenside..good pancakes
