Amazing Lunch At The Quarry Inn in Tuckahoe

I frequent the Quarry Inn quite a bit, but usually just for a few drinks. I've had some great dinner experiences there (especially from the specials menu), but to be honest, It's been a while since I ate lunch there. Today I split an order of their New England Style Fried Calamari, tossed with hot peppers and served with a spicy/tangy white sauce. The calamari was good, but the sauce was outstanding. For my meal, I had their flat iron steak sandwich, medium rare with sauteed onions and sweet potato fries. The steak was perfectly cooked and there was an abundant amount. The onion were so flavorful and matched the juiciness of the steak. I put the tiniest bit of ketchup on it and have to say, it's the best steak sandwich I've had recently. Compared to a new place in town that specializes in steak sandwiches this one is head and shoulders above it. Maybe even better than my go-to steak sandwich place.

The newer place Louie & Johnnie's. Awful in my opinion. Friends seem to like it, but complain about meat portions and price. Mine was $5 cheaper and much heartier. Not to mention delicious and actually cooked properly.

The one right across from Town Hall in Eastchester. Used to be a really good Kosher deli...for a minute
