Good and Kid-friendly in Cobourg?

Will be in Cobourg this weekend for a tournament. Any good restaurants worth checking out? A search of the boards only mentions Zest restaurant (which is in nearby Port Hope). Anything in Cobourg proper? Any place that highlights local fare?
Looking for any recommendations at all! Thanks!

Try John's Junction, the outside is deceiving (strip mall looking), but very comfortable inside, interesting menu for Cobourg and excellent food. Buttermilk Cafe on mainstreet is pretty consistent and popular. Oasis has been an old standby for years, but hear they are hit and miss lately.

If you're looking for breakfast or lunch, try The Dutch Oven right downtown on King St. Fresh baked goods daily and simple, but hearty meals.

I recently was at the Limestone Steakhouse and I have to say that I was quite impressed. The atmosphere is really quite nice and they have many options on the menu that were tempting and will have to be saved for our next visit. There seemed to be several children there when we were dining and I believe they offer a full children's menu. The server was very friendly and quite attentive and we definitely will be back!

We ended up at the Buttermilk Cafe. The kids had a chicken wrap, I had an open faced grilled chicken sandwich (a tartine). Both were fine, the fries were good, and the staff friendly. Would go back.
Thanks for the recs. Will try some of the other ones next time we are there-- Cobourg has a great beach!

I was at the Buttermilk Cafe this week with my two year old. We sat on the patio, and I found it kid friendly with good food. We were there for lunch and I had a chicken wrap. It was good and the accompanying fries were really good. I can't wait to go back for breakfast. The pancakes looked awesome!
