need a killer brunch recco

  • 4

Title seyz it all. Needs to be proximate to Coal Harbour and be nice, have large portions, good food (potatoes are important criteria) and good drinks (coffees, fresh juice etc).

Seems contradictory, but I'm almost looking for something that's both greasy spoon and classy.

  1. You might like Lift (I think they serve brunch only on weekends thought)

It's a short walk up to Davie Village, but maybe the Cafe Luxy would fit the bill? The room is both diner-esque but also very classy, kinda 1940's looking, lots of polished wood and nice decor.

They do brunch on weekends only, 10 am - 3 pm. Price is reasonable, and very generous portions. I always used to get the french toast! (Comes with nice fresh potatoes too). But their lunch items - every kind of pasta - are really superb. They make all the pasta fresh daily, and it's the real thing.

As I recall, there's usually a mimosa special during brunch hours :)

    2. Davie Street Brasserie, near Thurlow does a terrific brunch on the weekends.

      1. I don't know how close you mean by close but Medina is my favourite brunch in Vancouver. The portions are large enough to get this hungry man full and thr food is pretty amazing. That being said the food is usually a bit on the salty side, I don't know if they even serve potatoes, and the wait is ridiculous.

        Greasy yet classy.
