Restaurant suggestions for dinner with a view for large group
Hello,
Visiting NYC for the weekend in Aug. with a large family(6 adults & 7 kids(12-19 yrs). Wanted to know if anyone can suggest a moderately priced restaurant for dinner with a view of the city. We're staying on 7th avenue and 31st street, so we wanted a place that we can either walk to or take a short subway ride. We have cars, but prefer not to drive.
First time in NYC and wanted to make it memorable.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

My advice is skip the view. The Marriott has the spinning "view" restaurant but it is really bad food. Carmine's is inexpensive and although not gourmet , it is decent family style NYC Italian food, only about 10 blocks from you . Take the Circle Line for the views,,or go to South Street seaport and eat for different city views. Another place might be Gigino's near Battery Park or Bowling Green, it has a beautiful sunset view and view of the Statue of Liberty.
