Can I expect a 2012 GE dishwasher to get the dishes completely dry? Our machine is a month old. Cups and bowls which are upside down still have water on the tops after the machine has completed its dry cycle. The GE repairman told me "The machines aren't made like they used to be. The government regs for water and electricity mean there may be water on the tops of cups etc." Also the inside of the door is all moisture when the cycle is done. Again the repair man says this is normal for new machines. I find this hard to believe.
Hmm, my mom's very basic GE dishwasher purchased in 2011 has been a champ. Other than steam that dissipates, the inside of the door is not that wet. But we tend to run it overnight and it will be a few hours after the cycle is done before we open the door, so maybe I haven't noticed it much. Water will collect on the bottoms of upside down bowls if there's a ridge, but otherwise, they're dry. We do use the sani wash option for higher water temperatures and better cleaning, as well as rinse aid, and that seems to result in drier dishes too.
