I do.

Thinly sliced roast beef, gruyere cheese, caramelized onions and Dijon mustard on sour dough bread.

    I do too!! Proscuitto, Taleggio cheese, basil and tomatoes. hell yeah.

        Slightly hollowed foccacia (just plain). Butter the outside, or give it a sheen of oil, and let 'er rip. OMG so good. I'd be happy to eat 2 or 3 of your kind, too.

      A deli near where I work makes one called the Cardiac Arrest. Pastrami, salami, bacon and red onion with sun dried tomato mayo.

        These all sound yummy, but my favourite is Brie, basil and chocolate (yes, chocolate) on sourdough. Sounds bad, but is so good.

            Hmmm. I'm sure that's wonderful, but I think I'll stick with Mike's Cardiac Arrest. :)

              Pk, your fave reminds me (don't hate me) of this grilled sandwich we used to have and serve at a local chain coffee shop here in CA - Spires. it was on cheese bread with thin sliced roast beef, swiss cheese, i think onions.... it was wonderful. the bread was so crusty it would cut your mouth.

              one of my faves is an inauthentic cubano i made once - buttered bolillo, stuffed with slices of pork pernil, ham, pepperoncini (instead of pickles), muenster cheese, mustard, in the grill pan with a CI pan on top.... time to make one again!

                MC2, I had a Cuban on Sourdough the other day, and it was amaaaazing, except the deli guy grabbed the wrong cheese and gave me Muenster instead of Swiss, which I didn't catch 'til I got home. Still damn good, though.

                    I love, love love a cubano. Here is a pix of the last one I made. The bread came from Costco and was a type of cheese topped focaccia.

                    Really pretty simple. Maple turkey, with Swiss cheese and spicy mustard.
