Ethnic Food recommendations in Jacksonvillie?

letrell Jul 2, 2012 04:40 AM

We just moved to Jax from Toronto and looking for good ethnic food recommendations: Ethiopian, MIddle Eastern, Cuban, Filipino, Thai, etc.

I find lots of the great ones are in obscure, out of the way locations which is fine. Thank You.

Letrell, I thought I posted a reply the other day, but guess it didn't take. There is a decent Ethiopian restaurant in south Jax, Queen of Sheba, on Atlantic just east of 295. There are several mid-eastern cafes and bakeries in that area as well (east of 295, south of I 10). But I can't speak for their quality as I haven't eaten at any of them. One of the oldest Thai restauratns in your area is Pattaya Thai on Bay Meadows between 95 and Southside Blvd. They have several more traditional Thai oriented dishes (versus just the typical Americanized Thai dishes). Thai Orchid on Beach Blvd gets raves from locals. Also on Beach Blvd is Mambo's Cuban Cafe. There's a Filipino restaraunt along that strip of Beach that gets good reviews too.
