Bevmo five cent sale recs

  • 2

I'm looking for recommendations for a buttery not too oaky white and a non peppery red that I can get at Bevmo's 5 cent sale. I like
Subtle non desert wines. Please any help would be great as I'm not a wine expert but need to pick up some nice bottles for my boyfriend's birthday.

    1. a) Do you know what sort of wines, specifically, you boyfriend likes (or has had in the past that he liked)?

      b) What sort of price range are you looking at?

      c) Are you "wedded" to the idea of getting it at BevMo -- in case there's nothing good there that fits the bill, so to speak? If not, where do you live (so we could make recommendations)?

You won't find anything too terrible, but you are not likely to find any new favs either. I have found more luck in the red blends which declare themselves loudly on the label as blends,as opposed to just "Pinot Noir" or Cabernet" There are several Chards and Savignon Blancs but i buy Cava's and Proseccos for weekday sparklers. However, if you are near a BEV MO, you are probably near a wine shop. You may find a better bargin at a local wine shop (is this me?). Ask the same question as here and give them a price ceiling. You will likely be pleasantly surprised.
