Crabs in Frederick, MD

Looking for a good crab house in Frederick, preferably air-conditioned. We usually go to May's, but it's too hot under those tents. Any thoughts?

  1. You can eat crabs inside at May's.

And so we will, Hal. Thanks.

Make a reservation. They can get crowded.

Which is probably why we never sat inside before. But thanks, we got it covered this time.

Is inside or outside a better experience, and why?

We were inside last month, and glad of it in the 96-degree heat. The tent is not so bad earlier in the day, but it gets hot later in the afternoon.

It looks like it's not so hot these days at rainy and 82, but I'll take your advice. I just switched my reservation to indoor seating.

So do they have a policy where the whole table has to order the same AYCE deal? Or can my wife order the AYCE Mon-Thurs special of crab, steak and fries for $30, while I order the mega $54 deal?

                Thanks

I don't think so, but I haven't put it to the test. We usually have 4-8 folks doing the AYCE. I always tip the servers up front. In cash.

I just called to find out their policy on this.

They don't have a problem with people ordering different levels of AYCE, as long as there is no sharing going on at the table.

                      Up front. Cash.

Liberty Road has been closed for about 2 years now. They used to be pretty good, but in the months prior to their timely demise, the quality went down big time. I've seen some activity over there lately, but no outward signs of resurrection.

      2. Liberty Road very recently remodeled and reopened. The former owner is the Manager.

When? I didn't see anyone there last weekend. I'll check it out.

There was a picture and a story in The Frederick News Post about 2 weeks ago.
