Retail foie gras anywhere?

Figured I would keep this separate from the other more restaurant-focused thread.

Was hoping to pick up foie gras from Golden Gate Meat Company today, but they are all out. Has anyone seen it for sale anywhere in the past few days?

  1. Fatted Calf in Napa had some a few days ago (that's where I bought my lobe...)

    1. Gourmet Corner in San Mateo sent out an email yesterday that it still had some. You might check with Cafe Rouge in Berkeley, had been selling torchon by the pound and foie creme brulee.

          Gourmet & More has duck foie gras with Truffle Marble $80 lb.

        2. sorry, i realized i'm still not being specific enough. looking for a lobe so i can prepare it myself.

            Have you called Fatted Calf in the city. If they have it in Napa, they can get it in the city.

              not available at Fatted Calf in SF: foie gras au torchon was sold out on Friday by 10:05 am; didn't have the raw lobe on Thursday. that's all, folks.

              Gourmet & More on Gough had a lobe (about $80/lb) as well as the cryovac'd slices when I was in there a couple of weeks ago; might see if they still have any lobes.

                Just called Gourmet & More. They have slices, raw and cooked, and chunks, and they will cut a chunk to the size you want. No more raw lobes, though.

            3. The 4505 kiosk at the Ferry farmer's market last Saturday had cryovac'd slices of foie for sale - haven't been by there today, but worth a look.
