La Caridad....what happened?

I'm talking about the one on Broadway. Where the "lechon" (shoulder, in reality) and moro rice (Sat. Sun. only) was once pretty good.

They sure aren't now, and the food we saw on neighboring tables didn't look too tempting either.

Where is the best roast pork Latin style in the neighborhood now?

I've always preferred El Malecon (Amsterdam near 97th) to La Caridad but haven't been for a couple of years. They probably have roast pork on Sundays. I liked it but it wasn't my favorite dish there (some nice moist pieces, some skin, but also some dry parts). I get everything there with yellow rice and red -- not black -- beans, by the way.
