Can Anyone Comment??

Looked at website on Tamayo. Looks like a classy Mexican restaurant may exist in Los Angeles. Had hoped they had a patio but they don"t. Still, the menu looks good and varied and they do have an open bar. If anyone has been and can comment on the restaurant or offer something better I would appreciate hearing. I live in the valley and am willing to travel out to Atlantic and Olympic or anywhere in between.

  1. Tamayo was the classy Mexican Restaurant that the Rolls Royce/Bentley crowd used to drive to from the West Side, circa 1990 as I recall. Nice facility. The fact that it has survived since that onslaught of success is noteworthy.

Now appeals to all the locals, both personally as well as professionally, meaning anyone in need of a business meeting, luncheon, etc. in that area considers it one of the prime options on a very short list.

A much larger version of Serenata de Garibaldi with a full liquor license might be an apt description. Have not been in forever, so cannot attest to the food issue.
By the way, the place just sold and has new ownership as of February of this year, so who knows where it may be headed.
ps - your headline, Hugh, would generate more responses if you would mention the word Tamayo in it, as opposed to being a bit too general in nature.

Thanks Carter as to the response and the tip about posting. Most likely will go for lunch today and will post the results. Be well.

I had lunch there once years ago, the food did not leave a lasting impression on me.

Lord, how I wish I could say that about the food I've consumed (well, not so much an "impression" as an "expansion") ;-D>

Spot on description.... that being said, I still have a soft spot for their Mole Enchiladas. To me it's a the PERFECT Mole Poblano dish in the city...

Dommy - your recommendation of that particular dish would be justification alone to travel to East Olympic Blvd. from sherman oaks.
