Where can I find great Huevos Rancheros?

jgilbert Jun 28, 2012 05:56 PM

I am in a hunt for huevos rancheros. I don't want hard boiled sunny side up eggs as most places do these days, and sunny side up eggs with salsa on top wont' cut it either. Ranchero sauce is the key here. Any good recommendations on the Westside? Perhaps the greater LA area?

Feel free to use the search functions, or just look to the right of your screen under "Related Discussions" where there is a thread titled "Best 'Huevos Rancheros' in Los Angeles" http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/498728

I did a search and 12 topics showed up, none of them directly on my topic (some posters had mentioned the term in passing, but none of the previous posts related to this topic). After reading your reply, I do now that the term has been the topic of "related discussions" however, none of these showed up when I did a search.

I still think that El Tepeyac has really tasty huevos r's...have you tried them at Loteria Grill? On the west side I would recommend Tacos Por Favor http://tacosporfavor.menutoeat.com/

The very best Huevos I've found in LA is at Ford's Filling Station in Culver City. They offer it on the Sunday brunch menu - I don't know if it's available during the week. The sauce is excellent!
