Hi all - visiting the city for two weeks and looking for a decadent splurge. Are there any caviar houses that do tastings? I'm thinking of a tasting and then a purchase we can take back to the hotel for a romantic stay-in evening. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

I have never been but you could try The Russia House - http://russiahouselounge.com/index.htm

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm really looking more for a retail place that we can buy and take with us...

I believe Dean and Deluca on M street has some caviar last time I checked. My personal concern is that I wouldn't know how much turnover they have. I would buy it online at a place like Petrossian http://www.petrossian.com/
