I think you would enjoy Sahara Kabob in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the far north side of the city.

Also, my Assyrian friends in Skokie tell me that Juliana at 3001 W. Peterson in Chicago is a fun nightclub with decent food.

I think Assyrian and Persian are pretty close so you can always try Reza's, there are two (maybe three of them) one downtown in River North and one in Ansdersonvill (i think).
