Suggestions for Barrack's Row

My husband & I are here in DC for the next few days with another couple. We have tickets for the parade on Friday evening & are wanting suggestions for dining options along Barrack's Row. We had Italian tonight & will most likely have burgers tomorrow so we will probably want to try other cuisines. We are not picky so please send some recommendations our way. Thanks!

Thanks to all for the suggestions! I've done a little research & have found out that Zest will be closed tonight for a special event & Hank's has not opened yet. The menus for Cava & The Chesapeake Room are the most appealing to us. May need to flip a coin if both have an available reservation for 6p which I'm hoping should give us plenty of time to make it to the parade. If we should dine earlier, please let me know. Thanks!

the parade starts at sunset - you'd be fine eating at 7, honestly, if you can make a reservation. You don't want to sit out too long because it's blistering tonight.

Perhaps try The Chesapeake Room?

But given how busy that area can be, I say eat where you can find a table!

Enjoy the parade -my favorite thing to do in DC, though it should be very hot tomorrow and I feel for the Marines performing (but it beats being that hot in AFG).

Cava is very good. They serve Greek mezze/small plates. They have these zucchini fritter/ball things that are very very tasty.

I've only been to Zest once for lunch but I have an incredibly good lamb sandwich.

Also you might want to check to see if Hank's Oyster Bar has opened yet in the Eastern Market area. If it has, definitely head over there.

Fourth for Cava. The grilled octopus is sublime.

It's not the best mezze in the whole city, but I find Cava to be charming and pretty reliable.
