Place to work and chill in SOMA?

I'm bringing the car to the shop tomorrow morning, and will need to kill a few hours. Is there a decent, reasonably quiet cafe South of Market where I can have an espresso, sit, read and work a little?

(I'd rather not Starbucks, if I can avoid it).

Thanks for your suggestions. I considered Sighglass, but ended up splitting my time between the La Boulange at Metreon for breakfast, and Blue Bottle at Mint Plaza for a Gibraltar--the world's best espresso drink.

Where south of market ---

Blue Bottle Mint, you can often get a seat late morning, and I don't think anyone would kick you out.
Philz is on the other end of SOMA, the other Philz I've been to are good hang spots
I've come to like hotel lobbies - the St Regis and the W are nice
The Pub on the Mission Bay campus is really relaxed
