How can I make a reservation for L Ami Jean in July? There's no email on the website and was wondering if there's another option besides calling??

re: naughtyb
Most places in France are OK with English if your are patient and understanding. The person who picks up the phone may not be great but try probably know someone who is OK. But If you call mid service at lunchtime or dinner expect the "bums rush".
I also think if you launch into English without a bonjour and a parlez-vous anglais then you deserve what you get. I have seen this when drinking in bars, my conviviable server who was coping with my appalling franglais turned into the stereotypical nasty mean French server when tourist were not polite, they then reverted to the very pleasant person when serving us. Manners are so important.
CLJ. Will be fine if you are polite.

re: PhilD
Oh yeah. Totally understand this and am very sensitive to it. I just put myself in their position. It would be completely rude of anyone to call to where I work or see me in person and to just expect that I speak their language. I always start out with Bonjour and Parlez vous anglais? By the time I have half of it out, they are usually already speaking in English! But I always put in the effort.
