I'm from Florence so I'll chime in. I know you post about bham a lot, don't expect the quality, housemade ingredients from around here. I haven't eaten at a lot of these places in years so things might have changed.
Florence:
Ricatoni's - casual Italian place, some pastas (ravioli, frozen, tagliarini), pizzas are good (wood burning) (nowhere near Bottega/Bettola)
Trowbridge's - old ice cream parlor in downtown, great chili dogs, chicken sandwich, etc. great for kids
Staggs grocery - awesome greasy burger with great breakfast, only open breakfast and lunchI wouldn't waste my time on George's or Dale's for steaks
Bunyan's is my favorite BBQ in town
I love Jadd's for fast food, kind of a better Jack'sMuscle Shoals
Garden Gate is about the only place I might go, besides the donut shop for donutsTuscumbia
Claunch Cafe right next to Spring Park is goodSheffield
Box Car Cafe is a solid meat & three in downtown Sheffield, remember the meatloaf being goodThere's also the 360 grille in Florence for high end. For my money, I'd hit up Trowbridge's, Staggs, and Bunyan's.
It's not exactly an exciting culinary area. I hear the new Panera has been packed in Florence.
Let me know if you need more details or anything else.
