Hi!
I'm spending a couple days in Valledemossa and wanted to ask if any of you have food or drink recommendations for this lovely town.

Thanks!

Thanks...actually I was hanging with a bunch of locals, none of whom had ideas on where to eat as they normally eat at home....however, one of their friends is an expat of 6 years and recommended Can Mario, a restaurants in the upstairs of a hostal. All traditional Mallorquino food, the placed was filled with all Spanish families (not sure how local they were of course). My Mallorquino friends enjoyed it as much as we did. Seems like the only place in Valldemossa that isn't just a burger/pizza/fries cafe.

The Spaniards may not have been particularly local. The island is a holiday area for mainlanders. It's also not at all uncommon for folk living in Palma to also have a property in one of the villages

yeah, that was pretty much what i was getting at - but it's always good to get further clarification

The giveaway is in whatever language they were speaking. Locals will be speaking their dialect of Catalan, incomers will be using Castilian.

well, they could've been from mainland catalunya...regardless we weren't close enough for my friends to see if they were speaking Mallorquino vs. mainland Catala
