Hot dogs at the Landing

Near Gremaldi's is an outdoor hot dog stand called the Landing at Fulton ferry. We tried the chicken brat with curry sauce. It was on par with Doug's in Chicago. They have maybe 6 or 8 choices that sell for $6-$8. The dogs and brats are organic and the toppings are unique. They are open on Saturdays, Sundays, on the night that movies are shown in the Park next to the Landing and some Fridays. After eating we chatted with the owners for 15 or 20 minutes. If you are a hot dog fan, then check it out.

They've set up here in previous years, too, but with each new summer it's never a given that they'll return. Did you happen to see if the poppy-seeded Mary Ann buns were available for the Chicago dogs?

The Chicago dog has been renamed. It is now a Brooklyn Dog. I think they are not using a Vienna hot dog so it is not truely a Chicago Dog. I did not notice what type of bun was being used.

Shame. Previously they'd used Vienna Beef products, but perhaps the sourcing was too much bother when too few customers don't care one way or the other. Thanks for the word.
