We are going to be in Willamette on a Sunday and Monday night and it looks like Nicks Italian and Thistle are both close those days. I'd be extremely appreciative if anyone has any recommendations on good places that are open on Sundays and Mondays. We are staying in Newberg, but happy to make the trip down to McMinnvile.

Many thanks!

  1. If you're going to be in McMinnville either La Rambla or Bistro Maison are open on Sunday and La Rambla is open on Monday as well this time of year. Both are very good.

In Newberg, I've heard great things about Subterra but haven't eaten there yet - they are open on Sundays. The Painted Lady (Sunday) is outstanding as is Jory at the Allison Hotel (which should be open nightly). Both are pricey but excellent.

And not to be nit-picky but I assume you mean you're going to be in the Willamette Valley (which is pretty large geographically). Willamette refers to a river, a valley, several streets... you get the picture. You narrowed it down by your restaurant comments but just sayin'.

Jory @ The Allison Inn & Spa is not to miss! We also really enjoyed our meal at Red Hills Provencial Dining. Dundee Bistro is another nice place in this area. :)

I haven't eaten at Red Hills in years because the meal was so sub-par the last time we were there that I've been afraid to go back. We have such consistently fabulous restaurants (like Jory) in the area that there's no need to go back to one that *might not work out.

A new option in Dundee is Paulee which is where Farm to Fork used to be at the south end of town. We ate there for the first time about a month ago and it was amazing. Can't wait to go back!
