Farmhouse Tap & Grill-Burlington VT

We ate there on Friday night. It was very very busy in Burlington Friday night, so I'm taking that into consideration. We waited about a half hour, not bad given how busy everyone was and it was a beautiful evening so we were happy to wait in the "beergarden" which is really just a glorified back alley with a couple of picnic tables. I had a very good heffenwiezen (sorry about the spelling) while waiting.

Once we were seated the server immediately started asking us for our order. I understood that they were busy, but to ask if we knew what we wanted as she hovered over us after she handed us our menus was a little fast. She came back twice in the next five minutes to ask for our orders--then after we ordered I didn't see her again until I waved her down to get another beer. The delivery of the food was actually very quick. No complaints there.

I had the barbeque pork loin with coleslaw and cornbread. The cornbread was some of the very best that I've ever had. It was dense, crisp on the outside and sweet. My wife, who loves cornbread, raved about it and took half of mine. Luckily they did give two good sized pieces. The closeslaw was fine, not much tang but crisp and cool. The pork was okay, nothing to write home about but not bad. I thought for the taste and the size it was pricy at $21.00.

My wife had mac and cheese, which was, well mac and cheese with bacon. No matter how you doll it up there is only so much you can do with it. I think that it was $16 which I thought was quite expensive for what it was.

We skipped dessert. Overall, it was okay. If somebody really wanted to go there I'd go again, but wouldn't choose it.
